North Irish Sea Array – Survey Management

NISA has been designated a “Relevant Project” under the Transitional Protocol of the Marine Planning and Development Management Bill (MPDM) published by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government (DHPLG)

The proposed NISA site is located in the Irish Sea, off the coast of counties Dublin, Meath and Louth. The area of the site is 226.9 km2. The proposed windfarm area is approximately 14km wide in E-W direction and 31 km wide in N-S direction.

Scope of Work

GDG’s survey management involved coordination of the contractor works and ensuring compliance with the technical specifications as per the contract between Statkraft and Contractors.

This includes managing technical, commercial and HSE aspects.

GDG were responsible for the following:

  • Tendering Phase Coordination and Evaluation
  • Overall Survey Management
  • Review of contractors QHSE Documentation
  • Client Representation during Geophysical & Geotechnical Survey campaigns
  • Provision of Marine Mammal Observer (MMO)
