Venterra Group Plc, the offshore wind services company, today announces the opening of its first office to support its expanding operations in the fast-growing United States (‘US’) offshore wind market.
The new office, located in the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) in Providence, Rhode Island, was officially opened at a ceremony yesterday by Governor McKee of Rhode Island. It will serve as Venterra’s primary location on the east coast to support its fast growing operations across the offshore wind farm lifecycle. Attendees reflected a range of both current clients and developers seeking to invest in US offshore wind.
Venterra Group, was formed to create a global services champion supporting the offshore wind industry’s rapid expansion and leading role in the energy transition. It is building a global service offering across the wind farm lifecycle, comprising Engineer, Build and Support services through a combination of acquisition and investment.
The majority of Venterra’s eight member companies already operate in the US and it made its first US acquisition with INSPIRE Environmental in July 2022. INSPIRE serves clients in the offshore wind, ports and marine construction sectors and is located in Newport, Rhode Island, USA. It has completed over 275 projects worldwide for blue chip clients such as Orsted, Shell, Equinor, Siemens Gamesa, Mayflower Wind, Ocean Winds, BP, ExxonMobil, NYSERDA, NOAA, USACE, and USEPA.
"We are excited to have an established base in Rhode Island, a dynamic and strategic centre of industry expertise in this fast growing market. We set up to support customers world-wide and Venterra’s experienced member companies today already serve key US developers on both the east and west coasts. There is a great opportunity to help build a US supply chain with strong local content and jobs in renewable energy that help meet urgent demand for clean power. We are honoured to have Governor McKee open our office and look forward to helping deliver a flourishing offshore wind industry across many communities that will help serve America’s clean energy needs.”
“Congratulations to Venterra Group on the opening of their first office in the US. At Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG), we look forward to working with our fellow Venterra Group member companies to offer an expanded service to our clients in the burgeoning US offshore wind market.”
