How has the programme helped you grow?
Professionally, I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects gaining experience in the geotechnical design of shallow foundations, the structural design of soil retaining structures and temporary works design. I’ve also been able to gain knowledge of structural and geotechnical software including Tekla Tedds, Greta, Settle3 and Geostudio. Personally, through working collaboratively across a number of teams I’ve improved my communication skills and I am a lot more confident in myself.
What advice would you give to someone considering joining the GDG graduate programme? Take every opportunity that comes your way, the more varied and challenging the is work in your early career will help you improve your overall engineering skills, both technically and commercially. |
