GDG appoints strategic T&I lead, Fabrizio Gardini
Specialist engineering consultants, Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG), has announced the appointment of Fabrizio Gardini to lead their newly formed Transport and Installation function, which offers project execution expertise from early phase right up to detailed design.
Fabrizio is a chartered mechanical engineer with 20 years’ experience in management and engineering, supporting construction, installation and commissioning activities for the offshore energy sector. He joins GDG from Saipem, where he progressed from Graduate Project Engineer to Head of Subsea Structures & Systems, before joining the offshore wind commercial department as Project and Proposal Manager.
Fabrizio and his team will offer clients independent expertise to map the fabrication and installation supply chain, to define project execution strategies and to identify alternative transport and installation concepts.
“I’m delighted to welcome Fabrizio to GDG. His considerable experience in transport and installation broadens our service offering and brings added value to our clients. His appointment will support us in realising our scaling goals for 2022 and beyond.”
“I’m delighted to take up this exciting opportunity at GDG, a flourishing player in the offshore wind consultancy sector. It’s exciting to have the opportunity, not only to support the company’s ambitious growth plans, but also to grow professionally alongside the business.”
This appointment comes during a period of sustained growth for GDG, which joined the Venterra Group in 2021, and has been made as part of the organisation’s strategy to meet client needs in the increasingly critical offshore wind market.
